Kentucky Tourism Shines as Musicians and Artists Collide in a Must-See Performance at Centre College

 

On April 19, 2024, Centre College will host an extraordinary event where music meets glass artistry. Kentucky-based musician Piper Madison, alongside esteemed glass artist Brook Forrest White Jr., will present an enthralling show at the Jones Visual Arts Center in Danville, KY.

This event will combine the talents of Piper Madison, a Centre College senior who has reached the American Billboard top 40 as a recording artist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actress, with the glass blowing skills of Brook Forrest White Jr., a Centre College alumnus (class of ’91) and co-founder of Flame Run Hot Glass Studio and Gallery. During the performance, attendees will experience Madison’s live music intertwined with White’s creation of glass art on the spot. This synthesis promises to offer a visual and auditory spectacle where each medium complements and elevates the other.

Brook Forrest White Jr., revered for his glass craftsmanship, embraced Madison’s idea to merge their artistic expressions. This collaboration highlights decades of White’s expertise and his commitment to nurturing an engaging community of glass artists, collectors, and aficionados at his studio.

“Creating with Brook White and the team at Flame Run has been an awesome experience,” said Piper Madison. “I love to see these two art forms that mean so much to all of us come together in such a unique way. Hopefully this is the first of many collaborations to come!”

Brook Forrest White Jr. added, “For me, music and blowing glass go hand in hand. We always have music playing when we are working in the studio. Working with Piper on this project has been fun! She is very talented. Her music for this project accentuates our hot glass dance!”
