Alipay+, Hong Kong,

Alipay+ enables visitors to use 14 global e-wallets in Hong Kong, simplifying transactions for over 1.2 billion users and boosting local tourism.

Fourteen prominent international e-wallets from nine different countries and regions are now integrating their services with Alipay+, an innovative suite of cross-border mobile payment technologies managed by Ant International. This integration facilitates users in making payments in Hong Kong through their native apps, catering to a user base that exceeds 1.2 billion people. These users can now enjoy a safe and smooth transaction process in Hong Kong, known as “Asia’s World City,” which is seeing an uptick in tourist arrivals.

The integration powered by Alipay+ ensures that users of these e-wallets can transact smoothly at competitive exchange rates across numerous local merchants displaying the Alipay+ or AlipayHK logos. Local businesses, particularly SMEs, benefit significantly as they can accept payments from these 14 international e-wallet platforms directly through their existing AlipayHK codes, without additional investments.

The list of e-wallets recently added to Hong Kong’s payment ecosystem by Alipay+ includes MPay from Macao SAR, China, Changi Pay and OCBC Digital from Singapore, GCash and HelloMoney from the Philippines, Hipay from Mongolia, Kakao Pay, Naver Pay and Toss Pay from South Korea, MyPB by Public Bank Berhad and Touch ‘n Go eWallet from Malaysia, TrueMoney from Thailand, and Tinaba from Italy.
